A visit with our family of origin is the best example of how we gravitate to our old roles like moths to a flame. It only makes sense to me that Calvary and that whole story has to be something weird enough to stop us trying to make it fit into our twisted thought patterns. It's like a stick in the spokes of the wheel that turns in my head.<br /><br />For myself in those mid-night wakings, I sometimes have had to throw on The Passion of the Christ to stop some of the anxious merry-go-rounds that I have a tendency to hop on. <br /><br />I guess bottom line it's an issue of trust. I have to trust that the One who could get through my hard head and heart will continue to chip away at me and my particular brand of nonsense as well as getting through to everyone else.
